Set the Stage Series - Workshop 3: Motivating Attention in Today’s Classrooms (Facilitated from a Student Perspective)

Facilitated from a Student Perspective

Theme: Teacher Self-Development
Specialisms: Flipped Classroom
Facilitator: Georgy Volodin, MM (student)
Date: 03 Feb 2026
Time: 12:45 PM - 2:00 PM
Venue: BC401 and Online via Zoom

We’ve all seen it: you’re delivering your best lecture, yet half the room is focused on their phones. But is the problem really technology—or our approach to motivation and engagement?

Join this interactive session led by a university student to explore what truly captures (and keeps) student attention. Together, we will:

  • Unpack why students often disengage or turn to their phones during class.
  • Reimagine everyday teaching habits that foster genuine curiosity, participation, and focus.
