Winner of the President's Award for Excellent Performance and Achievement in Teaching 2000/01

Assistant Professor in the Department of Shipping and Transport Logistics, joined the University in July 1975. Mr Wong is honoured for his outstanding performance and achievements in Teaching. Mr Wong was the first runner-up of the Best Teacher Award 2000 of the Faculty of Engineering. Mr Wong holds the education philosophy that "education is for life, for a fuller and better life". Mr Wong began his career at the PolyU as a technician twenty-five years ago. Over the years, he has gained the status of Chartered Engineer, Corporate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and has studied for an MBA and is now near the completion of a PhD degree with the University of Surrey. He has been actively involved in teaching and learning development projects and has played a leading role in establishing web-based teaching and developing computer-aided interactive learning programmes in the department.
