Regulations

1. Students must carefully read the General Information on Student Lockers available on the Campus Facilities and Sustainability Office (CFSO) webpage (https://www.polyu.edu.hk/cfso/campus-environment-and-facilities/student-locker/) when applying for a locker on campus. Students are deemed to accept these Regulations and the General Information upon making the application and are required to comply with them. In the event of any inconsistencies between these Regulations and the General Information, the Regulations shall prevail.

2. Students must observe the usage period and the clearance deadline specified at the time of their applications. The clearance deadline for the 2026/27 academic year is 17 July 2027 (Sat). Students are required to vacate and return their locker (leaving it unlocked) and submit the 🔗 Locker Return (e-form) on or before the clearance deadline.

3. Before submitting an application for a locker, students should choose the locker location carefully. Requests for locker relocation will not be accepted.

4. Lockers are allocated to students for storing study-related items (e.g. books, notes, related academic materials and stationery) for academic purposes. Students are not allowed to store items that cause or are likely to cause hazards or nuisance to the environment or members of the University (e.g. flammables, explosives, weapons, pets, etc.). Students are advised not to store personal identity documents, significant amounts of cash, digital devices and other valuables in the lockers. The University will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to items stored inside the lockers. Students store items at the locker at their own risk and shall take full responsibility for them.

5. Students must provide their own padlocks and submit to 📍Information Counter at P202, Podium (Entrance at Core P) within 28 days of the successful application notification. Day 1 starts on the date CFSO issues the notification of successful application. Combination padlocks or other non-standard padlocks are not recommended. Students should visit their allocated lockers frequently and vigilantly protect their belongings.

6. Students must keep their lockers locked at all times. CFSO will issue a warning notice to any user whose allocated locker is left unlocked. If the situation is not rectified within six days of the warning notice, CFSO reserves the right to lock the locker and suspend its use. Upon suspension, the user has to apply to CFSO via Campus-locker.info@polyu.edu.hk to request reinstatement. CFSO will dispose of items found inside the suspended locker two months after the issuance of the warning notice or at the end of the usage period, whichever is earlier.

7. No stickers, posters or markings are allowed on the interior or exterior of the locker.

8. Using a student locker without prior approval from CFSO or failing to observe the clearance deadline constitutes unauthorised use. CFSO will force open unauthorised locker(s) and dispose of any items found inside. The University accepts no responsibility for any loss of or damage to disposed items.

9. The University reserves the right to force open the locker and dispose of/ surrender the items found inside without prior notice to the locker users in the event of an emergency, when necessary to do so in order to protect the health and safety of the University (or its members), or for compliance with the law enforcement authorities. The University will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to such items.

10. Violation of these Regulations may result in termination of the use of locker, rejection of future locker applications, and force opening of the locker. CFSO will charge an administrative fee of HK$100 for forcing open a locker of unauthorised use (including overdue) and HK$100 per day for unauthorised occupancy (including overdue).
