MOOC Design: A Framework for Success

Facilitators: David Watson (EDC), Laura Zhou (EDC)
Date: 16 Jan 2019
Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Venue: TU411

This hands-on workshop uses a team-based approach to encourage academic and professional staff to rethink the way in which they design MOOC, online or blended courses. Designing a visual storyboard, or framework for your curriculum, you will learn how to integrate pedagogical approaches such as the MOOC Design Mapping Framework (MDMF) (University of Glasgow) and Arena Blended Connected (ABC) Learning Design (Clive Young & Nataša Perović, University College London) into your curriculum design skills.

The key to this workshop is pace, engagement and collaboration, which means it is ideal for course teams to attend with the aim of beginning to construct course structures, learning sequences and assessment strategies, complete with creative dialogue and group reflection. Whether you are embarking on your MOOC journey or considering taking a face-to-face course towards a blended or fully online mode, this workshop will highlight techniques and approaches to support you in your transition to online delivery.
