PolyU recently concluded a delegation visit to Portugal, Spain, and Türkiye in mid-October 2025, as part of its ongoing internationalisation efforts to expand its global outreach. The delegation was led by Dr Tai-fai Lam, Council Chairman, accompanied by Prof. Ben Young, Vice President (Student and Global Affairs), and Mr Gavin Ngai, Deputy Director of Global Engagement. The successful journey involved meaningful engagement with high schools, Chinese Embassies, and various stakeholders.
Through several school visits, meetings with school leaders, and student engagement, PolyU showcased its commitment to facilitating cross-cultural learning opportunities, fostering global educational exchange, and inspiring future leaders. In addition, the delegation held high-level discussions at the Chinese Embassies in Portugal and Spain. The team further met with SEPIE (Servicio Español para la Internacionalización de la Educación) in Spain, the national agency for the internationalisation of education, to discuss the upcoming development of cooperation between PolyU and Spanish universities.
By forging closer connections with both high schools and government officials in Europe, PolyU continues broadening its international network, strengthening educational ties, and enabling new opportunities for academic collaboration.
