Research Overview

Prof. Shipeng Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, followed by a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from McGill University. His research focuses on sustainable construction materials and technologies, including cement chemistry, low-carbon mineral synthesis, rheological behavior of concrete, and 3D concrete printing. Prof. Zhang has received several prestigious accolades in recognition of his contributions, including the Research Grants Council Early Career Award, the Graduate Excellence Fellowship, the Les Vadasz Engineering Fellowship, and the McGill Engineering Doctoral Award.
