Dr Armin REZAYAN

Dr Armin REZAYAN

Research Assistant Professor (Collaborator: Prof. Charles XU)

Biography

Dr. Rezayan completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering at Babol Noshirvani University of Technology (BNUT), Iran. He then pursued his doctoral studies at Zhengzhou University (ZZU), China, receiving his PhD in 2023 with a focus on catalytic biomass conversion into high-value platform chemicals. After serving as a short-term postdoctoral fellow at ZZU, he joined the Advanced Biorefinery Laboratory (ABL) at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) as a postdoctoral researcher, where he worked for nearly three years.
His research expertise lies in thermocatalytic technologies that convert biomass and waste into high-value products, including biofuels, platform chemicals, and functional materials, supporting a circular economy and carbon neutrality targets. He has published 30+ peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, with 700+ citations (h-index: 13), and has served as an early career editor and peer reviewer for several international journals.
