The research project aims to enhance the long-term durability of concrete infrastructure in harsh marine environments. By combining experimental research at PolyU with advanced computational modelling at CNRS, the research team will investigate the fundamental degradation mechanisms of cementitious materials under seawater attack. Ultimately, the project seeks to develop predictive durability models and engineer next-generation, resilient cement formulations, directly contributing to global decarbonisation and sustainability goals in the construction sector.
