CEE Departmental Visit – AD&FD POHL Leung Sing Tak College (28 November)
A group of 27 students from AD&FD POHL Leung Sing Tak College visit CEE on 28 November 2025 (Friday). The group kicked off the visit with laboratory tours to the Transport and Highway Engineering Laboratory and the Water and Waste Research Laboratory, discovering the latest technologies used for road pavement and sewage treatment.
Prof. Andy Y.F. Leung, Associate Head and Associate Professor of CEE led an insightful programme talk and an engaging warm-up Q&A quiz, allowing everyone to gain deeper insights into the recent developments in civil engineering in Hong Kong. The group was also able to learn about the admission process and career opportunities in the BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering and the BEng (Hons) in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Development programmes.
To wrap up the visit, the group had fun participating in the Tower Challenge: Engineering with Straws, Tape and Imagination. With just a limited number of straws and tape, students showcased their creativity and basic civil engineering skills to build their own towers. The winning team constructed a tower reaching the height of 93cm!
A huge “thank you” to everyone who made this visit so memorable. We can't wait to meet more young talents and explore the world of civil engineering together!
