Distinguished Visiting Chair Professor (Medicinal Chemistry)
Prof. Rui Wang is a distinguished academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (2017, Division of Medicine and Health) and currently serves as Executive Director of the Institute of Materia Medica at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Distinguished Professor at Peking Union Medical College, and First-Class Professor at Lanzhou University. He is also a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and holds several prominent positions in national academic and professional organizations.
Prof. Wang is a leading expert in peptide drug research and development. He has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award (2016), the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (2009), the First Prize of the Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Progress Award (2016), the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Innovation Award (2016), and several provincial and ministerial-level awards for his innovative work in peptide chemistry and drug development.
He has led multiple major national research projects and has made significant contributions to the development of key technologies for peptide drug modification, large-scale preparation, and clinical translation. Prof. Wang has published extensively in top international journals, with recent research focusing on peptide-based drug discovery, radiopharmaceuticals, and innovative synthetic methodologies. His work has had a profound impact on the advancement of peptide therapeutics and pharmaceutical sciences in China and internationally.
