Project Title
To investigate proteome role in myopia signalling pathway using experimentally induced mouse myopia model

Synopsis

The mechanism of axial elongation in the myopic eyeball remains to be elucidated. The retina is a delicate tissue that receives visual input and transmits the molecular signals to guide the eye growth. Reliable ocular biometric data have provided evidence to support the use of animal models susceptible to experimental myopia. Mass spectrometry-based proteomics approach would help profiling unknown pathways involved in development of myopia, mechanism of emmetropization, biomarkers discovery and drug development.
