Summer @ OxBridge

This programme aims to encourage students to attend one of the below programmes hosted by University of Cambridge and University of Oxford.

  • All full-time PolyU undergraduate students in UGC-funded programmes, except final-year students, in any faculty/school are welcome
  • Students who have been on international student exchange programme are also eligible to apply but priority will be given to students who have not participated in international exchange programmes
  • Students who expect to receive a summer exchange offer in the same year should not apply

Subsidies

Summer Abroad Subsidy

Eligibility

  • Min. CGPA 3.2 as at Semester 1, 2018/19
  • Successful applicant to one of the OxBridge programmes with application confirmation

Allocation

  • Allocation of the subsidy will be based on latest CGPA (as of Semester 1, 2018/19)
  • Approved subsidy will be transferred to student's bank account as per record of Student Account Enquiry of Finance Office, PolyU
  • The Subsidy will be clawed back if student fail to complete the programme and transfer credits back to PolyU

Eligibility

  • LOCAL student with a Hong Kong Identity Card
  • Recipient of grant under the Tertiary Student Finance Scheme - Publicly-funded Programmes by Student Finance Office; OR family member is a recipient of the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA), The Hong Kong SAR Government
  • Never applied for nor been granted the Government Subsidy (formerly known as EDB) via International Affairs Office (IAO) or Chinese Mainland Affairs Office (CMAO). Each student can apply for EDB subsidy once only during the entire undergraduate study at PolyU​

Allocation

  • ​​The amount of Government Subsidy is calculated by applying the approved level of student finance to the maximum level of subsidy (i.e. HK$18,000) based on the latest available application result from Student Finance Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government
  • Approved subsidy will be transferred to student's bank account as per record of Student Account Enquiry of Finance Office, PolyU
  • The Government Subsidy will be clawed back if studnets fail to complete the programme and transfer credits back to PolyU
 
How to apply
  1. Apply online for one of the Summer@Oxbridge programmes. Save a proof on COMPLETED application in PDF format.

  2. Complete the Online Application for Subsidies

    Supporting documents required:

            a.   A proof on COMPLETED application in PDF format from one of the OxBridge programmes; and

            b.   Copy of PolyU Student ID Card;

             (below documents required if you apply for Government Subsidy) ​

            c.   Copy of grant approval letter from Student Finance Office in the current academic year; OR

            d.   Official confirmation document showing one of your family members is in receipt of CSSA
