The 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was held in Guiyang, China, from 28 July to 2 August 2026. During the event, Professor Geoffrey Shen, Associate Vice President (Global Partnerships) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), delivered a keynote speech at the High-level Internationalized Talents Forum.

In his address, Professor Shen outlined PolyU’s strategic framework for preparing students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven global landscape. He highlighted how PolyU integrates interdisciplinary curricula, innovative education technology, and global learning opportunities to equip students with future-ready skills and professional competence.
In addition to participating in the main forum, PolyU attended the meeting of the ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities (ACNET-EngTech), alongside 20 fellow member institutions. Organised by Tianjin University which hosted the ACNET-EngTech Secretariat, the meeting elected Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah as the alliance’s Rotating President for 2026.

It provides a platform for sharing information and facilitating academic exchange in engineering. The initiative promotes the integration of ideas, experiences, information, and achievements among its member institutions. Currently, ACNET-EngTech comprises 26 members from eight countries.
