Global Exchange Fair 2026 Brings Together Over 1,250 Participants

30 Oct 2026

The Global Engagement Office successfully organised the Global Exchange Fair 2026 on 22–23 October 2026 at the FJ Podium. The event brought together more than 1,250 participants, including local PolyU undergraduates, incoming exchange students, faculty members from various faculties, schools, the College, and the Student Affairs Office.

The fair officially commenced on 22 October with an energetic Kick-off Ceremony hosted by Prof. Geoffrey Shen, Associate Vice-President (Global Partnerships). He was joined by officiating guests and representatives from all faculties and schools, the Student Affairs Office, and the College, marking a university-wide celebration of internationalisation and cross-cultural exchange. Following the ceremony, four students returned from their exchange to the Republic of Korea, Singapore, France and the United Kingdom took the stage to share their unique exchange experiences.

A highlight of the event was the lively, student-led exhibition, where incoming exchange students representing 26 countries and regions hosted interactive booths to showcase their home countries, cultures, and institutions to PolyU undergraduates preparing for their overseas study. The participating countries and regions included:

  • Asia: Chinese Mainland, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand
  • Europe: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Türkiye, the United Kingdom
  • Americas & Oceania: Australia, Canada, the United States of America

PolyU students made the most of this peer-to-peer setting, asking practical questions about overseas campus life, accommodation, course selection, and living costs.

In addition to the interactive booths, GEO hosted several exchange information and student sharing sessions to help PolyU undergraduates plan, explore, and consider joining the 2027/28 Student Exchange Programme. Ten exchange returnees from Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and the United Kingdom shared their individual overseas experience with PolyU students.

The high level of engagement and enthusiastic participation reflect PolyU's vibrant, multicultural campus and its community's shared passion for global mobility and international education.
