Aims and Characteristics
Programme Aims
This programme aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills to address the evolving challenges in the field of cybersecurity. By integrating technical proficiency with strategic management principles, the programme prepares graduates to effectively protect information assets and ensure organisational resilience against cyber threats.
The objectives of the programme are listed below:
- To identify and assess cybersecurity risks within an organisation, developing strategies to mitigate potential threats;
- To understand and apply cryptographic algorithms to secure data and communications in various applications, including AI and IoT;
- To implement network security measures to protect against cyberattacks and threats;
- To develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures that align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements;
- To communicate effectively with stakeholders, including technical teams and executive management, to advocate for cybersecurity initiatives and policies;
- To understand professional ethics, social responsibilities and all-round capabilities which can contribute to the society and the development of Hong Kong and China; and
- Keep abreast of innovative, up-to-date and advanced cybersecurity technologies and will be able to engage in life-long independent learning.
