Prof. Leung Tsz Wing graduated from PolyU with a BSc (Hons) in Optometry in 2008 and a PhD in 2014. Since joining the School of Optometry as an Assistant Professor, Prof. Leung has pioneered a transformation in optometry education, shifting from a traditional technical focus to a holistic, people-centred approach. His innovative teaching philosophy emphasises empathy, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration, equipping students to become compassionate healthcare professionals.

Prof. Leung has led the development of patient-centric clinical tools and initiated large-scale collaborations with education professionals, providing vital eye care services to over 450 children with special needs. His contributions have been recognised through prestigious awards, including receiving the UGC Teaching Award (Early Career) and multiple teaching excellence awards at both School and Faculty levels.

Beyond his teaching and research, Prof. Leung has proactively fostered cross-faculty partnerships and delivered university-wide workshops to promote pedagogical excellence. His leadership in community outreach and commitment to student development have significantly enhanced PolyU’s reputation and impact.
