Entry Scholarships for Undergraduate Admissions

FCE Entry Scholarship for Local Students with GCE A-Level / International A-Level / International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Qualifications

With the aim of attracting and recognising students with outstanding results in the GCE A-Level / International A-Level Qualifications / International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Qualification, the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) offers the “Entry Scholarship for Local Students with GCE A-Level / International A-Level / International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Qualifications” from 2025/26 admission exercise onwards.

 

Eligibility

All local students admitted to any full-time UGC-funded Bachelor’s Degree programmes/ schemes offered by FCE and its constituent departments, who meet the University’s General Entrance Requirements of the admission year in question and successfully enrolled, attaining Grade A or above in 3 GCE A-Level / International A-Level subjects OR an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a total score of 36 or higher out of 45, will be considered.

In the event of re-admission, each student can only be offered the scholarship once.

 

Application and Selection Procedures

Application for the FCE Entry Scholarship for Local Students with GCE A-Level / International A-Level / International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Qualifications is not required. The awarded students will be informed separately after the commencement of the academic year. 

On top of the entry scholarships offered by the University or programme-host department, if any, a one-off scholarship will be awarded if the admittee achieves an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 36 or higher out of 45 OR Grade A or above in 3 GCE A-Level / International A-Level subjects. The scholarship amount ranges from HK$15,000 to HK$30,000 as presented below:

Remarks:

  1. A "local student" is defined as one who does not require a student visa to study in Hong Kong.
  2. Under the "Guideline Governing the Concurrent Holding of Scholarships", a student can concurrently hold more than one scholarship administered by the University in an academic year if the total value of scholarships received by the student does not exceed the annual tuition fee payable plus HK$50,000 unless otherwise stipulated.
  3. In cases where candidates have equal merits on other selection criteria, preference would be given to students with financial needs.
  4. FCE reserves the right to change or withdraw the scholarship at any time. In the event of any dispute/disagreement, FCE’s decision shall be final.

 

Obligations of Awardees

Awardees are automatically enrolled as members of the FCE Smart and Resilient Visionaries Network. Membership is free and provides access to exclusive opportunities, events, and updates from the Faculty. They may also be invited to join activities arranged by FCE or FCE constituent department(s) upon the scholarship announcement, thereby enhancing the Faculty’s visibility among prospective students.
