Biography

Dr. Zhong Chen received his B.Eng. from Zhejiang University (2002), M.Eng. from the National University of Singapore (2004), and Ph.D. from North Carolina State University (2008). From 2009 to 2015, he was with Texas Instruments as an ESD Design Engineer and TMG Member of Technical Staff. He joined the University of Arkansas in 2015 as an Assistant Professor and later became Associate Professor and Faculty Director of the NSF-funded National Multi-User Silicon Carbide (MUSiC) Fabrication Facility. In 2026, he joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as Associate Professor. He served as the General Chair for the IEEE Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications (WiPDA 2025). His research interests include SiC CMOS integrated circuits, high-voltage devices, semiconductor reliability, and ESD protection. He holds 15 patents, serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics.
