Research Overview

Dr. An Wang is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining PolyU, Dr. Wang worked at Senseable City Lab, MIT, for two years, after earning his doctorate from the University of Toronto in 2020. His interdisciplinary research focuses on the nexus of sustainable transportation systems, urban environmental sensing, and data-driven modelling of human exposure. His recent research work explores the environmental and energy justice issues in global metropolitan areas. Dr. Wang’s research has been featured in multiple high-impact journals across disciplines, including Atmospheric Environment, Environmental Science and Technology, and Applied Energy. Born and raised in China, he is keen to establish impactful sustainability studies and contribute to low-carbon transitions in his motherland.
