Dr Wang Youwu– Research Assistant Professor

 

Dr Wang received his PhD degree in Structural Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017. After graduation, he jointed the Hong Kong Branch of National Engineering Research Center on Rail Transit Electrification and Automation (CNERC-Rail) as research associate (9/2017 – 11/2017), postdoctoral fellow (12/2017 – 5/2020) and research fellow (6/2020 – 12/2020).

 

Dr Wang’s research focuses on the structural damage detection and safety assessment of civil infrastructure under the effects of structural deterioration, climate change and hazards to aid the development of the infrastructure systems. Recent applications emphasize on long-span bridges, high-rise buildings and high-speed rail. He participated in several research projects and consultancy projects as a co-investigator. In addition, he assisted in organizing two large-scale conferences (more than 650 attendees in total including 9 academicians) as a secretary-general of the conference.

 

Dr Wang has joined us on 4 January 2021.
