Dear Students
We hope you have had a wonderful summer. As you prepare to return to PolyU for the upcoming 2026/27 academic year, please ensure you comply with the following mandatory immigration requirement if applicable.
Unless you hold a valid permanent HKID card, the right of abode or right to land, a One-way Permit, or have an unconditional stay visa label, you must maintain a valid visa or entry permit to study at PolyU. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of immigration regulations and may result in severe legal penalties, including fines and imprisonment.
In light of recent immigration breaches in Hong Kong, the University is strengthening its visa and permit monitoring process to ensure compliance and to safeguard students from unintentional commission of immigration offences. All students holding a visa or entry permit to study at PolyU must now submit scanned copies of valid visa or entry permit documents (e-Visa and / or landing slip) via eStudent. Once verified, you will automatically receive an email reminder six weeks before expiry to prompt you to renew your visa or permit.
Key Arrangements:
Submission: If continuing studies in Semester One of 2026/27, upload your latest visa or permit details via eStudent (My Profile > Personal Details > “Visa Matters for Students”) following on-screen instructions.
Deadline & Access Restrictions: If documents are not submitted and verified by 12 September 2026 (Saturday), your access to campus, eStudent, and LEARN@PolyU will be suspended starting 14 September 2026 (Monday).
Restoration: Access will be restored within three working days of successful submission and AR verification.
If you have already submitted your latest visa or entry permit details, please log in to eStudent to review your record and ensure its accuracy. If you find any discrepancies, have recently changed your visa type, or have further questions, please contact us at ar.visa@polyu.edu.hk.
