Election of Student Members to Senate and Senate Committees 2026/27
Senate is the highest authority on all academic and related matters within the University. Chaired by the President, its members include the Deputy President and Provost, Senior Vice President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Heads of academic unit (HoU), Chair Professors nominated by HoUs, academic staff elected by their peers or co-opted by Senate, and student representatives, etc. Its powers and duties are detailed in the Statute of Senate.
A total of 55 student member vacancies are available in this election for Senate and Senate Committees, including Faculty/College/School Boards. Elected members will serve for a 1-year term from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027.

Nomination Period [9 - 22 Sep 2026 (by 11.59 pm)]
All nomination forms should be returned to the Academic Registry by email at senate.election@polyu.edu.hk by 11.59 pm on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.

Announcement of Nominations (23 Sep 2026) / Confirmation of Nominations (2 Oct 2026)
List of nominations will be announced on Wednesday, 23 September 2026. If the Nominees wish to withdraw their consent to the nomination, they should submit a notice in writing to the Election Officer via email at senate.election@polyu.edu.hk on or before Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

Online Polling [17 (9 am) - 21 Oct 2026 (11.59 pm)]
Voting by secret ballot will be conducted via an online platform during the period from 9.00 am on Saturday, 17 October to 11.59 pm on Wednesday, 21 October 2026 (Hong Kong Time).

Period for Lodging Complaints (23 - 24 Oct 2026)
Any complaint arising from the conduct of the election shall be lodged with the Election Officer within 24 hours of the announcement of the result of the election.
Confirmation of final election results will be announced on Monday, 26 October 2026 subject to no complaints being received.
