Preparation for Subject Registration
• Subjects pre-assigned to you by your department, if any (Study Information)
• Your personal class timetable (My Class Timetable)
• Your earliest commencing time (i.e. start time) for online subject registration (Personal Checklist)
• Subject details and class timetables (Subject Search / EasyPlanner)Students on academic probation are required to take a reduced study load, as determined by their departments, during the probation period to help improve their academic performance. They should complete the form titled 'Study Load for Students on Academic Probation' (Form AR150), indicate their proposed study plans, and take the initiative to seek advice from Academic Advisors within one week of the announcement of assessment results to confirm their subject registration for the upcoming semester.
During Subject Registration
You are reminded to check whether you have completed the required compulsory and core subjects to fulfill your graduation requirements. Please refer to your programme requirement document for details regarding these requirements.
Generally speaking, the credits you earn should be proportional to the number of years you have studied in the programme. For example, if the duration of your programme is four years and you have already completed two years of study, you should have earned half of the credits required for graduation. If you fall short of the credits based on this estimation, you may want to register for more subjects to catch up on your study progress whenever possible.Prior approval is required to drop a pre-assigned/registered subject for students enrolled in Higher Diploma and Bachelor's Degree programmes. You have to seek academic advice from your Academic Advisor/Programme Leader if you have genuine needs to drop these subjects.
If a class is full but open for enrollment on a waitlist, as indicated by the subject offering Department, you will be automatically placed on the waitlist for that subject when you confirm your subject selection. A real-time waitlist position will be displayed for your reference. When a vacancy becomes available, students on the waitlist will be registered automatically based on their position. You will receive an email notification upon successful registration for a waitlisted subject. For further details, please refer to FAQ > waitlisting function.
