The event attracted over 6,000 alumni, together with their families and friends, as well as staff and students from the PolyU community, who gathered on campus to celebrate their alma mater’s remarkable progress. In his address, Prof. Jin-Guang Teng said, “Over 89 years of development, PolyU has secured a position in the top 100 of the three major global university rankings, achieving 54th place in the QS World University Rankings and making steady progress towards the global top 50. This achievement has been made possible by the tireless dedication of our staff and students, as well as the unwavering support of our alumni. PolyU has nurtured over 500,000 graduates and has an alumni network spanning the globe. As PolyU approaches its 90th anniversary, I sincerely hope that you will all continue to stand alongside your alma mater, remain closely connected and support the University’s various endeavours.” PolyU Homecoming 2026 featured a rich and diverse programme. One of the highlights was the InnoTech Campus Adventures, which was jointly organised by over 40 faculties, schools and departments. Through innovative booths and guided campus tours, it showcased a range of innovative PolyU research achievements, including the Portable AI Retinal Fundus Camera, the world’s first lightweight intelligent assessment system for fatty liver detection and the radiation-free 3D ultrasound imaging system for scoliosis assessment. Alumni also had the opportunity to visit campus landmarks such as the University Gallery, the University Library and the Industrial Centre, rekindling fond memories of their student days as they strolled around the campus. Meanwhile, the Alumni Creative Market, AI x Craft Workshops and live music performances brought together more than 20 alumni, who showcased their talents through a variety of cultural and creative activities, including galvanised iron product making, blown sugar art and patterned band weaving, which are items of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage. These activities offered participants unique and engaging experiences, demonstrating some of the diverse and rich talents of PolyU alumni. This year’s Homecoming also featured several competitions, including the PolyU Campus Architecture Photo Contest, the AI Calligraphy Competition and a puzzle hunt game, creating a lively atmosphere on the day. The highlight of the day was the friendly futsal match. Class Ambassadors Connect 2026

On 18 March 2026, more than 130 graduating students gathered at the Alumni Atrium for “Class Ambassadors Connect 2026”. The event marked the official appointment of the latest cohort of Class Ambassadors, who came together to build relationships, exchange perspectives, and prepare to take an active role in the PolyU alumni community. The programme began with a presentation by Ms Wanze Li, Assistant Director of the Alumni Affairs Office. She introduced the Class Ambassador Scheme and encouraged the final-year students to stay closely connected with their alma mater after graduation. She also invited them to inspire their peers to participate in alumni activities and to help strengthen the PolyU network beyond campus. A highlight of the event was a sharing session by two Class Ambassadors appointed in previous years. They spoke about the personal and professional benefits they gained from serving in the role, and offered practical tips on maintaining strong ties with classmates while staying engaged with the University. Their stories gave the graduating class valuable insights into the importance of sustaining lifelong links with PolyU.  The atmosphere was further enlivened by a lucky draw, during which PolyU souvenirs were presented to the ambassadors by Ms Yvonne Li, Director of Alumni Affairs; Dr Darron Sun, President of the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA); along with FHKPUAA officers, alumni leaders, and representatives from PolyU offices.  The networking session that followed was particularly engaging, featuring lively conversations and exchanges of ideas among the new ambassadors, alumni leaders from different disciplines, and University representatives. Many participants stayed on after the formal programme to continue their discussions and explore ways to deepen engagement with PolyU and fellow graduates. This year, over 300 final-year students from PolyU’s faculties, schools, departments, and the College of Professional and Continuing Education have been nominated as Class Ambassadors. With this vibrant new cohort, the PolyU alumni family is set to be energised with renewed passion and commitment. More photos are available on Facebook and Instagram.
