  • Mode of Study: PolyU MSc AWM is a mixed-mode programme. Students may pursue their MSc AMW studies with either a full-time study load (taking 9 credits or more in a semester) or a part-time study load (normally taking less than 9 credits in a semester).

  • Duration of Study: Students who wish to extend their studies beyond the normal duration should submit an application to the Faculty of Business for consideration.

Programme Aims

With a focus on building industry connections and practical experience, the programme offers students opportunities to engage with professionals through digital networking platforms and webinars, facilitating real-time interactions with industry leaders. Students will participate in and work on real-world projects, utilising virtual collaboration tools and project management tools to simulate a professional environment.

 

By enriching their learning journey through hands-on experiences, including data-driven case studies and digital asset management simulations, students are equipped to excel in the fast-paced and ever-evolving landscape of family offices. Additionally, the programme will incorporate immersive technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain for training sessions, allowing students to visualise complex financial scenarios and develop strategic solutions in a risk-free setting.

 

Ultimately, the programme aims to develop a skilled workforce adept at leveraging digital innovations, contributing to societal prosperity and sustainable success. By integrating fintech applications and ethical investment practices into the curriculum, graduates are positioned to make meaningful contributions in the dynamic field of asset and wealth management, driving forward-thinking strategies that align with contemporary market demands.

 

On completion of the programme, graduates will be able to:

    Learning Objective: Cultivate socially responsible leaders in asset and wealth management by emphasising a global perspective and integrating sustainable practices into decision-making.   2. Solve Asset and Wealth Management Problems using Emerging Technologies
    Learning Objective: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of family office and digital asset management principles and emerging technologies, leveraging theoretical frameworks to analyse and solve complex business issues. By incorporating cutting-edge technologies, students enhance their analytical capabilities and foster innovation, ensuring they are prepared to navigate the evolving landscape and address challenges in the digital age.

     

  3. Critical and Creative Thinking
    Learning Objective: Exhibit adept critical and creative thinking within asset and wealth management, coupled with a mastery of professional knowledge and tools, further bolstered by real-world practical projects.

    Learning Objective: Develop the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively across diverse platforms and audiences in family office and digital asset management businesses. Technology-related Elements of the Curriculum

To help students embrace technological change and digital transformation, five technology-related elements, namely Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Data Science and Entrepreneurship, have been embedded in the programme across a wide range of subjects.

 

Our curriculum is designed to foster students' awareness of the impact of technological innovations and enable them to handle data and adopt technology to tackle business and organisational issues while enhancing their management and leadership.

Programme Structure

To be eligible for the MSc in Asset and Wealth Management (Digital Asset Management) or MSc in Asset and Wealth Management (Family Office Wealth Management) award, students are required to complete 6 Compulsory Core Subjects, 1 Academic Integrity and Ethics (AIE) Subject and 3 Elective Subjects, totalling 31 credits.

 

There is a possible exit award of Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) for students who have completed 5 Compulsory Core Subjects (excluding Asset and Wealth Management Project), 1 Academic Integrity and Ethics (AIE) Subject and 2 Elective Subjects, totalling 22 credits.

Note:

  1. The Asset and Wealth Management Project offers students the opportunity to work on real-world asset and wealth management problems and cases through collaboration with industry partners.

     

  2. International Experience offers students the opportunity to broaden their international perspective and professional network by attending an international executive programme with our partner institutions, which are AACSB or EQUIS-accredited members outside Greater China. Students will pay for the international executive programme themselves. Our MSc AWM programme will not charge a fee for the 3 credits. The transferability of the credits earned from the international executive programme with regards to the 3 PolyU credits will be determined based on the academic equivalence of the international executive programme. No grade will be assigned.

 

Subject to factors such as staff availability, student enrolment, programme resources and so on, not all subjects will be offered during the normal duration of study. Registration is subject to the availability of quota.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.

Class Schedule

Classes are scheduled on weekdays, evenings and weekends, subject to the final arrangement of the programme.

 

Tuition Fee

HK$495,000 per programme (HK$16,500 per credit for 30 credits) for local and non-local students.

Tuition fees will not be charged for the 1-credit "Academic Integrity and Ethics in Business".

 

Students taking the elective subject "International Experience" will pay the course fee directly to the offering institution and bear the costs of travel, accommodation, visa application, insurance, etc. themselves. The MSc AWM programme will not charge the credit fee for taking the "International Experience" subject.
