Prof. Yanki C. Lee is a design research scholar, social innovator, and international speaker whose work spans participatory, inclusive, and social design. Trained at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Royal College of Art (RCA), London, she holds a PhD in Design Participation and an MA in Architecture. From 2000 to 2012, she was a Research Fellow at the RCA’s Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, contributing to the UK’s inclusive design movement. She later founded two social design collectives: Exhibit at Golden Lane Estate CIC in London (2005) and Enable Foundation, a registered charity in Hong Kong (2016). Since 2017, she has led major social design projects in Hong Kong, using design research and collective action to address complex social issues. With more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and articles, she is currently a Visiting Professor at Design School Kolding/BEVICA Foundation in Denmark and was formerly Associate Professor in the Design+Change programme at Linnaeus University, Sweden.
