ICH in Drawing: Personal ICH Community Map (畫出非遺：個人非遺社區地圖)

The ICH in Drawing: Personal ICH Community Map is part of the “Navigating ICH Together – Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter Community's Intangible Heritage Pictograph Record Programme”, a PolyU Design research project supported by the HKSAR Government's Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme under the Community-driven Projects 2024 initiative.

Through guided walks, drawing activities, and interactions with local heritage practitioners, participants will explore Ap Lei Chau, Aberdeen, Tin Wan, and the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter while discovering the area's rich intangible cultural heritage. Using drawing and mapping as creative tools, participants will create their own personal ICH community maps, documenting the people, places, stories, and traditions that shape these unique communities. The programme offers a hands-on opportunity to engage with local culture while developing observation, mapping, and visual storytelling skills.

Open to students from all universities and tertiary institutions, the programme prioritises applications from PolyU students. Places are limited to 40 participants.

Whether you are interested in design, heritage, community engagement, drawing, or place-making, this programme offers a rare opportunity to experience Hong Kong's living cultural heritage from the perspective of both a participant and a creator. Join us in mapping the stories, traditions, and people that shape the unique identity of Aberdeen and Ap Lei Chau.
