PolyU's Faculty of Business (PolyU Business School) has recently received donations from the business sector to assist its research in the blockchain and fintech realms.

 

Pledged amounts of HKD 2.5 million and HKD 1 million were received in June 2025 from Asia Digital Assets Research Institute Company Limited and Asseto Fintech Limited, respectively, to support the establishment of the Centre for Digital Assets and Innovation.

 

A donation pledge of HKD 15 million was also received in May 2025 from WeBot Securities Limited to support a research project, titled "Is Blockchain the Ultimate Cybersecurity Weapon?". This pledged amount was solicited by a research team led by Prof. JIN Yong Jimmy. The team members are Ir Prof. Edwin CHENG Tai-chiu, Prof. XU Xin, Prof. FENG Yue Katherine and Prof. Chelsea JIANG.
