Mr XIONG Jiaming, a PhD student from the School of Nursing (SN) at PolyU, won a Distinguished Poster Presentation Award at The 2nd International Conference on Palliative Care and Family Health Nursing, 2026, held in Thailand.

Mr XIONG received the award in Group 1 of the Family Health and Community Care category, for his research titled "Perceptions, Facilitators, and Barriers of Dyadic Activities Among People with Dementia and Their Caregivers: A Dyadic Exploratory Qualitative Study". He was supervised by Prof. WANG Shanshan, Assistant Professor of the SN at PolyU.

Mr XIONG’s research presented the perceptions of dyadic physical activities of people with dementia and their caregivers, as well as their perceived facilitators, barriers and expectations for such activities.

The 2nd International Conference on Palliative Care and Family Health Nursing, 2026, was held at the Faculty of Nursing of Thammasat University Rangsit Campus in Thailand from 22 to 23 June. The conference’s objectives were (1) "to exchange knowledge and research evidence among health professionals towards palliative care and family health nursing" and (2) "to initiate and build up networking and mutual collaboration among nursing professionals at an international level".

The conference covered topics on palliative care and family health nursing. The programme included a plenary session and major symposiums, as well as research and innovation presentation sessions featuring both oral and poster presentations.
