A paper titled “Long-term obesity impacts brain morphology, functional connectivity and cognition in adults” by PolyU PhD student Mr ZHANG Die and seven other researchers was published in March 2025 in Volume 3, Issue 3 of Nature Mental Health. Mr ZHANG, from the Department of Health Technology and Informatics, was the paper’s first author. He was supervised by Prof. QIU Anqi, a Professor from thesame department and the paper’s corresponding author.

 

This paper highlights the dynamic relationship between obesity evolution and brain-cognitive health, underscoring the clinical importance of long-term monitoring and management of obesity through a multifaceted approach.

 

Nature Mental Health, part of the Nature Portfolio journals, is a monthly online-only journal that publishes original, peer-reviewed research from the breadth of sciences exploring mental health and mental health disorders.
