Miss HU Yule, a PhD candidate from the School of Nursing at PolyU, secured the Best Poster Award at the 27th East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars (EAFONS) Conference held by the School of Nursing at the University of Hong Kong in March 2024. Miss HU’s poster presentation, titled "Effectiveness of Telehealth Interventions on Cognitive Function in Patients with Neurological Disorders: A Systematic Review and Metaanalysis," topped 16 other participants in the Award Candidate Poster Presentation Session of the conference.

The research team was supervised by Prof. LI Yan, Assistant Professor from the School of Nursing, and co-supervised by Prof. Angela LEUNG Yee-man, Professor and Associate Head (Research) from the same school. Miss HU was the presenting author in the poster presentation, and Prof. LI was the corresponding author.

Their research is a review aiming to identify the characteristics and effectiveness of telehealth interventions on cognitive functions and related quality of life in adults with neurological disorders. The project reveals that telehealth interventions are safe, feasible and acceptable for adults with neurological disorders and could reduce healthcare costs. They are beneficial to global cognitive function, memory and quality of life.

Initiated in 1997 by Prof. Ida MARTINSON and her colleagues from the School of Nursing (formally the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the annual EAFONS intends to provide a regular regional forum for doctoralprepared nurse academics and their students.
