Brief Biosketch
Dr LEE Ka Man is currently an associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. She is the program leader of BSc(Hons) Enterprise Engineering with Management and BSc(Hons) Engineering Management with Data Analytics. In addition, she is the scheme leader of Intelligent Supply Chain and Engineering Management. She obtained her PhD and BEng degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to join The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she was Assistant Professors of Nanyang Technology University. Dr. Lee’s research spans a wide array of cutting-edge topics in industrial engineering, including:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications in manufacturing and logistics
- Reinforcement Learning for optimization problems such as electric vehicle charging
- Digital Twins, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing in supply chain and industrial systems
- Fault Diagnosis using deep learning and transfer learning techniques
- Sustainable and Smart Manufacturing, including eco-design and cold chain logistics
She has authored over 230 peer-reviewed publications, including journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. Her work is widely cited, reflecting her influence in both academic and applied industrial research. Dr. Lee currently serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Consumers Electronics and Journal of Engineering Design, Senior editor of Industrial Management and Data Systems. As of now, Dr Lee has published over 230 articles in various international journals and seminars. She was awarded Silver Medal and Bronze Medal in the 47th and 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in 2019 and 2024 respectively. She also got Outstanding Paper Award of Emerald Network Awards in 2019. Dr Lee also serves as the Lab-in-Charge of PolyU’s Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory (https://www.polyu.edu.hk/ise/cps/us/index.html).
Dr. Lee is the fellow of Institute of Higher Education, a member of the Research Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (RIAM) and the Research Centre for Digital Transformation of Textile and Apparel (RCDTT), under the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research. She was the chairlady of IET MIES HK Chapter in 2019-2020, and senior member of IEEE. She is recognized for her interdisciplinary approach, combining engineering, data science, and decision analytics to address complex challenges in modern industrial systems.
