Summary

From science fiction and technological spectacle to our daily routines, humanoids are rapidly evolving into sophisticated systems that bring together key disruptive innovations in autonomous systems, collaborative platforms, and AI.

Yet the greatest challenges still to be addressed also represent opportunities. We can move beyond the engineering of machines that walk, talk, perceive, and act like us, and focus on the soft skills that will enable people to accept them as a natural part of everyday life.

This keynote explores the “humanoid leap”: the transition from fascination with human-like machines to genuine, frictionless coexistence. It examines the technological, social, psychological, and design principles that will determine whether humanoids become trusted partners or remain impressive novelties. From homes and hospitals to factories, offices, and public spaces, successful adoption will depend not simply on capability, but on predictability, usefulness, safety, cultural fit, and the subtle choreography of human-robot interaction.

The talk will consider what makes technology feel invisible when it works well—and how humanoid robots can achieve the same quality of integration. Ultimately, the future of humanoids will not be defined by how convincingly they imitate humans, but by how effortlessly they enhance human lives.
