Atal Tower is featuring an interactive exhibition showcasing our expertise in smart and sustainable building solutions, exploring energy efficient, digital and sustainable solutions for both new construction and existing building upgrades. This visit may provide valuable insights.
Discover the future of engineering at ATAL Tower, Hong Kong’s pioneering Provisional Platinum BEAM Plus-rated industrial revitalization project. This visit offers an exclusive look at cutting-edge innovations, including: Digital and Sustainable solution, AI-driven BMS & Energy Management, Active Chilled Beam Air-Con, Renewable Energy & Green solution (walkable PV pavers, oil-free chillers), Digital Twin, IoT, and AI Security, MiMEP & liquid cooling solutions for data centers. With 30% energy savings and a commitment to ESG excellence, ATAL Tower sets the benchmark for next-generation green buildings.
On 17 August, we had a technical visit to Atal Tower, this was a co-organized event with THE IET MIES, totally 38 participants joined this event with 19 participants from PolyU MILES Alumni Association. Atal had provided a coach picking us up at Kowloon Tony MTR station exit D.
We completed our security registration at the ground floor entrance. We headed to fourth for group photos and souvenir presentation. Then, we were separated into two group: group one would go to seventh floor first, group two would go to fourth floor first.
Group one was led to an office floor equipped with temperature and humidity sensor, insight sensor (people count, motion, light, sound, temperature and humidity), 15-in-1 IEQ sensor (temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, total volatile organic compound, particulate matters (PM10) , particulate matters (PM2.5), particulate matters (PM1.0), Formaldehyde(HCHO), Nitrogen Dioxide(NO2), Ozone (O3), Ammonia (NH3), illuminance (Lux), sound level(dBA), occupancy (motion sensor)). These sensors could be used to control temperature, lighting brightness, occupancy and detection of harmful air. The Active Chilled Beam (ACB) could save 30% electric power costs as compared with traditionally cooling system.
In the fourth floor, there were show cases for smart buildings and smart infrastructure.
The orignal plan was to go to top floor to see the walkable PV Power but as there was thunder strom, we saw video instead. The walable PV Power could be used as solar power panel while supporting people walking on them and could be used as isoluation bricks. The event ended up at 17:00, everyone had a good experience about the new technology.
