PolyU commits to research excellence and addresses global challenges with practical innovation. Researchers working on niche areas have been collaborating with IC to realize their research ideas and outputs to real applications.
Space Technology
Mars. Lunar. Phobos. It's a twenty-year story of aerospace exploration by a group of passionate and devoted professors and engineers. It is also one of PolyU's most successful research initiatives. Core team members are come from PolyU's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) and IC.
Currently the team is working on Chang'e 5 and other new space projects.
Railway Technology
Railway and high speed rail technology is one of PolyU's focus research areas. The Chinese National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Technology Research Centre (Hong Kong Branch) (CNERC-Rail) was established in PolyU by the State Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in 2015.
We have been supporting CNERC-Rail on a number of research initiatives aiming at providing innovative and novel solutions to pressing technical problems in the railway industry.
Steel Construction Technology
The Chinese National Engineering Research Centre for Steel Construction (Hong Kong Branch) (CNERC-Steel) was established in PolyU by the State Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in 2015.
We are providing support to CNERC-Steel on its research in effective design and construction of modern building and civil engineering structures and the use of high-performance materials.
