Aims and Characteristics
Artificial Intelligence and Information engineering encompass vital technologies that support worldwide economic growth. With the increasing popularity and technological advancement of artificial intelligence, products and services embedded with intelligent features are in great demand. It is envisioned that there is a great need for professionals who possess professional knowledge and skills relevant to information engineering and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on machine perception and data science.
This Programme aims at producing graduates with basic knowledge and skills relevant to Artificial Intelligence and Information Engineering. On successful completion of the Minor in Artificial Intelligence and Information Engineering programme, students should be able to:
- Apply the fundamentals of science to the discipline of Electronic Systems and Internet-of-Things.
- Identify, formulate and solve problems relevant to artificial intelligence and information engineering.
- Use modern engineering/IT tools appropriate to artificial intelligence and information engineering.

Entrance Requirement
To be eligible for a Minor, you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above at the time of application for Minor enrolment.Students interested in pursuing a Minor should submit Form AR147 via eStudent during the application period. Applications will be considered by both the Major and Minor programme offering Departments.
