Bachelor of Science (Hons) Scheme in Computing & AI

All students admitted to the BSc (Hons) Scheme in Computing & AI will undertake a Common Year One curriculum within the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. In the second year, they can select an individual award and study the corresponding content. All these awards feature a Minor option and a Capstone Project in the final year.

BSc (Hons) in Computer Science

  • Year One: fundamental knowledge.
  • Year Two: generic broad computing skills, and basic business and management concepts.
  • Year Three: strengthening computing technologies and applications in IT.
  • Final Year: specialisation in different areas such as data mining, computer graphics, e-commerce, Internet computing, multimedia computing and game programming.
 

BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems

  • Year One: fundamental knowledge.
  • Year Two: basic computing and IT concepts, underlying technologies, business, accounting and management concepts.
  • Year Three: a broadening year featuring various aspects of computing skills and knowledge of enterprise information systems.
  • Final Year: specialisation in areas such as Information System Management, Audit & Control, Decision Support, Knowledge & Project Management, Business Process Management, Logistics and Workflow.

 

Experiential Learning

Experiential Learning consists of two major components: Work Experience and Non-local Learning Experience. It facilitates a dynamic exchange among students, industry professionals, and the university, fostering a unique educational setting that extends beyond traditional campus boundaries. It also equips students with the skills necessary to communicate and collaborate effectively, efficiently, and professionally in real-world settings and enhance their global perspectives.

 

All full-time undergraduate students of the BSc (Hons) Scheme in Computing & AI of normal year intake admitted from 2025/26 onwards are required to complete one of the following experiential learning requirements.

  • (i) a 6-month local internship AND (ii) a 1-week non-local study tour, a 1-week non-local service learning trip, or a 1-week non-local summer program; or
  • (i) a 2-month outbound exchange or 2-month non-local WIE AND (ii) a 312-hour local WIE; or
  • other activities, subject to special approval
