Biography
Prof. Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), holding a joint appointment in the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics. He received his Ph.D., M.Phil., and B.Eng. degrees from PolyU, Waseda University, and Sichuan University, respectively, all in computer science and AI. From 2021 to 2022, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sydney, where he was also a visiting Ph.D. from 2019 to 2020. He is generally interested in Efficient AI, which targets learning/modeling with limited resources in terms of data, computing capability, as well as their applications on wide spectrums. Some specific topics include zero/few-shot learning, collaborative/federated learning, representation learning, model compression, and lightweight solutions for foundation/large models. He is currently serving as Executive Editor-in-Chief for Edge Intelligence and Systems, serving as Associate Editor for Pattern Recognition and IEEE OJ-CS, and serving as Guest Editor for IEEE TCSS and Complex & Intelligent Systems. He regularly serves as Area Chair and/or Senior PC for prestigious venues like ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, IJCAI, ACM-MM, AAAI, etc.
