CHOY Man Ho
BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering, Year 1
Recipient of CEE Entry Scholarship 2025/26

I am truly grateful to have been nominated for the CEE Entry Scholarship for Outstanding HKDSE Students. It is a great honour to have this opportunity to share my thoughts, and I hope it will be helpful.

Ever since secondary school, I have been interested in and good at Mathematics. I hope that I can further my studies in related fields and pursue a career where I can apply these skills. Moreover, I have always been fascinated by Hong Kong’s iconic infrastructures, such as the Tsing Ma Bridge, which improves the quality of life for Hong Kong residents. If I can contribute to the planning, design, or construction of such projects in the future, I would feel proud and fulfilled.

When I was making my JUPAS choices, I carefully considered both my interests and long-term career aspirations. I believe Civil Engineering is one of the most suitable paths for me because of increasing demand for infrastructure development. The CEE programme at PolyU attracted me due to its practical training and real-world experience, which can help me prepare for my future career.

University life is different from secondary school because university offers greater flexibility in scheduling and time management. To make the most of the rest time, effective time management is essential. I also believe that seeking help from academic advisors and senior students is important to adapt to this new environment.
