Key Information
Undergraduate students are eligible to pursue a Major plus a Minor, except for the following cases:
- Students admitted to the advanced stage of a programme on senior year status;
- Students admitted to an articulation degree programme; or
- Students enrolled in Majors which are designed to preclude the possibility of pursuing a Minor.
Students must obtain a Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above at the time of the Minor application. Minor programme offering Departments may set quotas and impose additional criteria apart from the above GPA requirement.
A Minor programme is a collection of subjects totalling 18 credits with at least 50% (9 credits) of the subjects at Level 3 or above. Students opting for a Minor may be allowed to count up to 6 credits from their Major (excluding “Free Elective” subjects, if any) or General Universty Requirements (GUR) towards their chosen Minor.
Students are expected to complete their Minor study during the normal duration of their Major study (or within the Maximum Period of Registration for students admitted in or before 2019/2020).
Students interested in pursuing a Minor should submit Form AR147 to their programme offering Department during the application period. Applications will be considered by both the Major and Minor programme offering Departments.
