Biography
Prof. Rundong NING's research interests include work and labour, STS, and development and the Global South. Supported by various competitive funding schemes, his recent projects examine entrepreneurship in Congo-Brazzaville and the interactions between technologies and local societies in China-Africa connections. He uses ethnographic, computational, and other methods and has rich fieldwork experiences in China and Africa. His writings appear in Economic Anthropology, Current Anthropology, American Journal of Cultural Sociology, African Studies Review, and other academic and public outlets. Beyond academia, he also provides consultancy services for various public, private, and non-profit institutions. Before joining PolyU, he was an RGC-funded post-doctoral fellow in the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong.
