Prof. Jeremy LIM’s research furthers the study of family caregiving by investigating how it is multidimensional and multidirectional. Multiple dimensions of care – instrumental, emotional, and financial – are often shared among multiple caregivers within and beyond the family. Care also flows in many directions, for example, grandparents may receive functional assistance while caring for grandchildren. Deepening our understanding of family caregiving will inform interventions that support, not supplant, existing networks of care.
Prof. LIM is passionate about teaching person-centric quantitative methods including Latent Class Analysis and Group-Based Trajectory Modelling. Such methods look beyond population averages to highlight different individual experiences, be it in caregiving, mental health, social networks, or financial vulnerability. These methods inform the development of policies that are sensitive to diversity.Education and Academic Qualifications
