Ella is a Registered Social Worker with extensive experience in both social work practice and social work education. She is currently a member of the Social Work Fieldwork Team at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and previously served as Assistant Programme Leader of the Master of Social Work (MSW) programme from 2020 to 2026.

Before joining the University, Ella built a solid foundation in frontline social work, supporting older adults, carers and family-related challenges. Her professional experience spans crisis intervention, casework service development, staff supervision, carer support, and community health programmes, reflecting a sustained commitment to responsive, person-centred practice.

Ella brings to her academic role substantial experience in teaching, student supervision, and fieldwork education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is dedicated to fostering students’ professional learning through fieldwork coordination, teaching, and close partnership with practice agencies. She has also contributed to professional and public education in gerontology and dementia care.

Her teaching interests include fieldwork education, gerontology, dementia care, and student development. She is committed to supporting students in developing confidence, critical reflection, and a strong sense of professional identity in social work.
