Biography

Dr WU’s research lies at the intersection of urban planning, human geography, and political economy, with a particular focus on urban (re)development, urban finance, and urban policy in post-socialist China. Her research explores hierarchical state power relations and state-market-society relations within China’s political economy, using quantitative and qualitative methods. She is particularly interested in how local governance and its performance outcomes at both the city and individual levels vary across region-specific contexts.
