Multiple scholarship options are available to our undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students at PolyU. Students with high academic achievements or who are making a positive impact on society can find out more information about the eligibility criteria and how to apply for the scholarships by clicking below.

Name of Scholarship PolyU's School of Nursing Leung Kao Pui Yee Cynthia Award
Value of Scholarship The scholarship is donated by the Louis K. Y. Leung Education Foundation.
Up to 3 awardees will be selected. Each awardee will receive a sum of HK$50,000.
Objective of Scholarship To recognise nursing students who are excellence in both academic and non-academic domains, including innovation, social responsibility, artistic creation, and international exchange.
Eligibility & Conditions
  • Be a current local student pursuing a full-time undergraduate Nursing degree programme (BSN & MHN Year 3-4, BSNAY Year 2);
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above by the end of the academic year;
  • Have demonstrated well-roundedness by participating in extra-curricular activities and community services;
  • Have shown a commitment to serving Hong Kong;
  • Be free of disciplinary records during the studies at PolyU.
Application Procedures

Invitations will be sent to eligible students. Applicants are required to submit their application forms, CV, supporting documents and personal statement by the stated deadline.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview, which is tentatively scheduled for early to mid-January.

Awardees are expected to attend any related functions or ceremonies hosted by the School of Nursing, PolyU. Additionally, they are required to prepare a thank-you letter and deliver a presentation to the donor.


Name of Scholarship PolyU's School of Nursing Louis K. Y. Leung Bursary
Value of Scholarship The bursary is donated by the Louis K. Y. Leung Education Foundation.
Up to 6 recipients will be selected. Each recipient will receive a sum of HK$20,000.
Objective of Scholarship To motivate nursing students with financial needs to excel in both academic and non-academic domains.
Eligibility & Conditions
  • Be a current local student pursuing a full-time undergraduate Nursing degree programme (BSN & MHN Year 2-4, BSN AY Year 2);
  • Demonstrate Strong financial needs (e.g. TSFS/NLSFT records);
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above by the end of the academic year 2024/25;
  • Demonstrate well-roundedness by participating in extra-curricular activities and community services;
  • Have shown a commitment to serving Hong Kong;
  • Free of disciplinary records during the studies at PolyU.

Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital Scholarship

(Applicable for 53081 Master of Nursing students of 2023-2028 cohorts)

Value of Scholarship

For Year 2 & 3 students

Top three students, each obtains a GPA of 3.5 or above in their previous year(s) of study in the programme, will be awarded the scholarship. HK$45,000 per student.
The Donor, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, reserves the right to review the amount and the method of distribution of the scholarship from time to time.

Objective of Scholarship To provide financial assistance based on students' academic achievement.
Application Procedures Eligible students will be nominated during each academic year and are required to complete a nomination form.

School of Nursing Scholarship (for Conference attendance & undergoing Overseas Placements)

Value of Scholarship HK$10,000 for undergoing placements / attending conferences overseas
HK$2,000 for local conference attendance
Objective of Scholarship To encourage students to participate in overseas placements and local / international conferences to broaden their horizon, learning and experience.
Eligibility & Conditions of Award
  • Students on the MSc in Nursing (53070) programme are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Students can receive this scholarship once throughout their study.
Selection Criteria

For undergoing overseas placements (offered by the School of Nursing)

  1. Preferably obtain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) or above;
  2. Submit a self-evaluation paper;
  3. Provide recommendations from Programme Leaders / Specialty Coordinators / Subject Lecturers.

For local and overseas conference attendance (initiated by students)

  1. Explain the relevancy of the conference to the chosen specialism in the MSc study;
  2. Submit a self-evaluation paper;
  3. Provide recommendations from Programme Leaders / Specialty Coordinators / Subject Lecturers.

(Remark: The School of Nursing reserves the right to accept or decline any applications submitted.)

Application Procedures

For undergoing overseas placements (offered by the School of Nursing)

Eligible students will be invited by the Programme Secretary of the MSc in Nursing (53070) to submit the required application documents in due course.

For local and overseas conference attendance (initiated by students)

Eligible students should submit a self-evaluation paper and provide the details of the conference to the Programme Secretary of the MSc in Nursing (53070) by email at least one month before the conference date..
