POSITION OPEN: [ _____________ ] REIMAGINING SOCIAL DESIGN CAREERS FOR SHARED FUTURES

This exhibition features 12 social design projects by students from NUS Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Industrial Design, and LASALLE College of the Arts, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design.

Through a series of imaginary job titles, this exhibition invites visitors to enter the social design work of students and encounter their situated, hands-on, and empathetic practices with communities across Singapore and Hong Kong. These speculative roles are not detached from reality; they are, entry points into local actions, emerging responsibilities, and new ways of working with people, places, policies, and institutions. 

Therefore, we are not simply browsing possible careers. We are collectively asking what future forms of work might look like, what kinds of social value they might produce, and whether the very idea of a “job” remains sufficient for the futures we wish to build. 

Rather than preparing students to fit into predefined career paths within the existing market, this exhibition invites us to imagine the roles, responsibilities, skills and attributes needed to shape what comes next.
