The young generation is spearheading a new wave of innovations and technologies, serving as a growing force that will change our society in future. This year, six young PolyU researchers were honoured with the “PolyU Young Innovative Researcher Award” (YIRA) 2023 in recognition of their outstanding research endeavours in addressing global challenges. The prize presentation ceremony was held in early October.

Positioned as an innovative world-class university with a strong sense of social responsibility, PolyU is committed to supporting and encouraging young researchers who aim to make a positive difference to the world, said Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, President of PolyU.

Prof. Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation) of PolyU, is pleased to witness the original and innovative research of the University’s young academics. With a vision for a positive future, their remarkable contributions drive transformational innovation towards solving societal problems, he added.

The six young awardees are dedicated to research in fields that include renewable green energy, wearable medical rehabilitation devices, nanotechnology, soft materials to aid the visually impaired, human-machine collaborative manufacturing systems, and information networks.
