Bursting with creativity and innovation, the PolyU Fashion Show 2025 lit up the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in June, attracting nearly 1,600 industry experts, designers, and fashion enthusiasts, along with over 20,000 online viewers worldwide. The event showcased spectacular collections by 24 talented students from PolyU’s School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT), each collection celebrating talent, passion, and the limitless possibilities of the future of fashion.
This year’s Show featured 88 outfits, spanning casual wear, evening attire, activewear, and lingerie. Designed by graduating students from the flagship BA (Hons) Scheme in Fashion and Textiles, the collections explored diverse social ideologies, identities, and cultures. Students combined traditional textile techniques like quilting and crocheting with advanced technologies such as laser engraving and knitting technology, resulting in a vibrant display of aesthetics and profound design concepts.
Prof. Jin-Guang Teng (5th from right), Prof. Miranda Lou (6th from left), and Prof. Erin Cho (4th from left) attended the PolyU Fashion Show 2025, joined by Hon Sunny Tan (5th from left) and representatives from the event’s sponsors. They posed for a group photo with the winning students.
Among the audience were Professor Jin-Guang Teng, PolyU President; Professor Miranda Lou, Executive Vice President; Professor Erin Cho, Dean of SFT, as well as distinguished guests including the Honourable Sunny Tan, Legislative Council member for the Textiles and Garment functional constituency, and representatives from the event’s sponsors. Their presence demonstrated strong support for nurturing emerging talent in the fashion industry.
Professor Cho remarked, “This year’s collections are more than garments. Each stitch, silhouette and texture reflects a synthesis of knowledge, skill and cultural introspection. These young creators do not merely design—they interrogate, reimagine and redefine the zeitgeist.”
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of six awards and scholarships, generously supported by SFT’s industry partners and sponsors, recognising outstanding designs and encouraging students to pursue their fashion dreams.
