Brief Biosketch

Dr Jacky S.L. Ting is Head of AI Innovation at the AS Watson Group (the world’s largest international health and beauty retailer, operating over 17,000 stores under 12 retail brands in 31 markets, with over 130,000 employees worldwide) and an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Prior to joining AS Watson, he had worked in senior management positions in well-known corporations, such as, Cognizant Technology Solutions (HK) Limited (a leading American multinational corporation that provides digital, technology, consulting, and operations services), which is listed in the NASDAQ-100 and the S&P 500 indices: it ranked 217 at in the Fortune 500, as of 2025) with the position of Head of Digital Business and Digital Services Lead of the Greater China Region. He also worked at PCCW Solutions Limited (the largest telecommunications company in Hong Kong that is listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange SEHK: 0008) with the position of Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Practice Leader in Digital Solutions. In 2011, he was awarded a doctoral degree in Medical Informatics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining from the PolyU; and in 2017, he received the ISE Distinguished Alumni Award and became an Associate Fellow at The Professional Validation Centre of Hong Kong Business Sector (PVCBS).

With a strong focus on transformation strategy, digital systems (including AI, Big Data Analytics, Web3, Metaverse, NFT, Human Science/Design Thinking, Interactive Solutions, and IoT technologies), and agile development, Dr Ting has more than 15 years of experience in innovation, digital transformation, and business management.

His contributions to the field have been widely recognized, earning him accolades such as the "Gold Stevie® Winner 2026 - AI Rising Star of the Year", "Silver Stevie® Winner 2026 - AI Innovator of the Year", the “Gold Medal with Jury Congratulations in the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2026”, "Silver Medal in International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva in both 2024 and 2025", and "Project Manager of the Year 2023". He has also been selected for inclusion in prestigious programs like the IoT Heroes Program and Marquis Who’s Who in the World®. In addition, he received the Outstanding Youth ICT Achiever award (issued by Hong Kong Computer Society). Dr. Ting has presented his ICT works and research outcomes in 12 international conferences and has published in more than 30 international refereed journals.

Furthermore, Dr Ting has been serving as an award judge under OGCIO - The Government of the Hong Kong SAR for the HKICT Awards since 2021. In addition, he has been an esteemed judge for the international "Stevie Awards" since 2023. These roles allow him to contribute his expertise and knowledge in evaluating and recognizing outstanding achievements in the field of technology and innovation.
