Summary

Learning how to write a high quality research paper is crucial for PhD students, Postdoc researchers, and academics. Different subjects, such as physics, chemistry, medical sciences, and engineering, have unique approaches and key considerations for writing research papers. In Manufacturing Engineering field, International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture (IJMTM), and Journal of Materials Processing Technology (JMPT), are recognised platforms that contribute significantly to the research community by publishing advanced research works. Prof. Zhirong Liao, as the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Materials Processing Technology and an Associate Editor of International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, has sensitive experiences on handling papers and paper surgery which gave him a deep understanding of what it takes to publish in these journals. In this seminar, Prof. Liao will introduce these two journals with their scopes, publications styles, common issues and key factors on publishing on these two journals. He will also share his experience on handling papers as an editor and publishing in these two journals as an author. This seminar would be highly beneficial for anyone in the field of Manufacturing Engineering looking to improve their research paper writing skills and increase their chances of successful publication in top-tier journals.
